Instructions for contestants

Rules

All the registered persons over 18 have the right to participate in the Wine Run. Children from 14 to 18 may participate only with the written consent of their parents.

Participants must exclusively wear the start numbers under which they are registered on the chest, otherwise they will be disqualified.

It is forbidden to transfer start numbers to other persons.

Runners are required to use only the marked run course and to follow the instructions given by the organizers, stewards and volunteers standing by the course.

Participants run at their own risk. The organizers shall not bear any legal or financial consequences in the event of personal injury or damage caused to the equipment of runners, or for the acts of the runners towards other runners or third parties.

A participant may withdraw from the run and is not obliged to inform the organizers thereof. In the event of cancellation or inability to take part in the run due to unforeseen circumstances, the organizer is not obliged to return the money paid.

A list of all participants in the Wine Run Palić 2020 with the results achieved will be published on the website of the Wine Marathon.

 

Instructions

Runners may arrive at the Contestant Area at the Grand Terrace from 8:00 a.m. and not later than 10:00 a.m. Here, there is a dressing-room available where they can hand over their belongings to the volunteers. The items taken are placed in a bag labelled with the holder’s start number, and the contestant may take the items after the end of the run at the same place only by presenting his or her start number.

Participants may use medical assistance in the Contestant Area.

Participants must exclusively wear the start numbers under which they are registered, otherwise they will be disqualified. The start number shall be placed on the chest.

When taking the starting position, elite athletes stand in the first row behind the start line, while everyone else is behind them.

Runners are required to follow the instructions of the manager and referees at the start line. The runners whose conduct violates the arrangement and order at the start will be dismissed and disqualified.

Both runs start at 11:00 a.m.

All contestants must pass checkpoints on the course. If a contestant for any reason has not been registered at these checkpoints, he or she shall lose their ranking and result.

The time limit for completing the course is 5 hours and each contestant who reaches the finish line by 4.00 p.m. receives a medal for participating in the Wine Run / Enjoyment Run.

In case they need it, runners may address stewards or volunteers at the refreshment stops for transport to the Contestant Area or health care facility (if necessary).

After crossing the finish line, all participants have access to refreshments, medical aid and toilet.

The announcement of the first three contestants in the men’s and women’s competition both for Wine Run and Enjoyment Run is to be held on stage at 1:30 p.m.
