Instructions for contestants



All the registered persons over 18 have the right to participate in the Wine Race. Children from 14 to 18 may participate only with the written consent of their parents.

Participants must exclusively wear the start numbers under which they are registered on the chest, otherwise they will be disqualified.

It is forbidden to transfer start numbers to other persons.

Runners are required to use only the marked race route and to respect the instructions given by the organizers, stewards and volunteers by the route.

Participants run the race at their own risk. The organizers do not bear any legal or financial consequences in the event of personal injury or damage caused to the equipment of runners, or for the acts of the runners towards other runners or third parties.

A participant may withdraw from the race and is not obliged to inform the organizers thereof. In the event of cancellation or inability to take part in the race due to unforeseen circumstances, the organizer is not obliged to return the money paid.

A list of all participants in the Wine Race Palić 2017 with the results achieved will be published on the website of the Wine Marathon.


Runners may arrive at the Contestant Area at the Grand Terrace from 8:00 a.m. and not later than 10:00 a.m. Here, there is a dressing-room available where they can hand over their belongings to the volunteers. The items taken are placed in a bag labelled with the holder’s start number, and the contestant may take the items after the end of the race at the same place.

In the Contestant Area, participants may use medical assistance and a toilet.

Participants must exclusively wear the start numbers under which they are registered, otherwise they will be disqualified. The start number shall be placed on the chest.

When taking the starting position, elite athletes stand in the first row behind the starting line, and everyone else is behind them.

Runners are required to follow the instructions of the manager and referees at the start. The runners whose conduct violates the arrangement and order at the start will be dismissed and disqualified.

The race starts at 10:30 a.m.

All contestants must pass checkpoints on the route. If a contestant for any reason has not been registered at these checkpoints, he or she shall lose their rankings and results.

The time limit for completing the route is four hours and each contestant who reaches the finish line by 2.30 p.m. receives a medal for participating in the Wine Race Palić 2017.

In case they need it, runners can address stewards or volunteers at the refreshment stops for transport to the Contestant Area or health care facility (if necessary).

After crossing the finish line, all participants have access to refreshments, medical aid and toilet.

The announcement of the first three contestants in the men’s and women’s competition is to be held on stage at 2:30 p.m.


The right to participate in the Enjoyment Race is without any age limit. The race is free, there are no start numbers, but registration in advance is required (here). Anyone interested in participating in this race shall come to the Start Area 15 minutes prior to the start of the race.

The participants enter the Start Area at the Grand Terrace only after the last contestant of the Wine Race leaves the Start Area. Enjoyment Race starts at 10:40 a.m. at the Grand Terrace.

Enjoyment Race is an event without winners or rankings.
